This is probably the number one thing that keeps people apart. Lack of communication means lack of understanding. And people don’t like what they don’t know or can’t understand. That’s a big problem considering 70 percent of messages are not clearly understood.
Let’s use an example.
I could say “I need to walk the dog”, and I think that is a very clear message. There should be no reason why you can’t understand what the purpose is of that sentence. But let’s put more information into it. I need to walk the dog now, right? At this moment, it is crucial. So you say, “Okay, you go walk the dog, and I’ll do the dishes.”
But then I look at you like you’re crazy. “I didn’t say I needed to do it now.” Oh.. Okay..
Something that is a very simple misunderstanding, not like anything that would happen at an NY Hyundai dealership with their amazing communication, but simple issues do happen.
Sometimes there can be really big communications that can alter the time frames, movements, daily routines and even big travel times and decisions.
Another example.
Carriers, like those you can find in online classifieds, are able to transfer anything from one side of the driving world to another unless they are other more international carriers then flying is the way to go. The communication needs to be as together as possible to ensure that all parties are on the same page about certain details. Things like when to pick up, where to drop off, how they will travel, how much for the trip, how long it will take…things that this can be crucial when deciding and planning.
If someone pays half of the money down, they know its set and ready to go but there only needs to be communication to make sure everyone is on the same page. I will say when a carrier makes one phone call, doesn’t contact the second person when they don’t get a response, and then expects everything to be ready to go the next early morning…obviously the communication was not good.
People don’t go at the drop of a hat. People have to plan. Communication should be used and if it was, plans for the carrier could have been carried out with no issues. Calling the second person would have been an ideal scenario for the carrier, but now they have to wait.
Sucks.
Next time. Communication.
